Teaching your dog tricks

YouTube Preview Image Many people for some reason find it hard to train a dog to do tricks, and the truth is, it can very difficult. Some reasons might be the dog, the environment that the dog is in, and possibly yourself. A key thing to remember is that you are in control, and you can train a dog to do possibly anything you want. You need a lot of little treats to start to train your dog. Use the treats as a “reward system.” Every time the dog does the trick or something good, you reward them with just one treat. I am going to give you an example of how to train your dog to shake your hand. What I did first, was I grabbed her paw and shook it. Then I repeated this a few times saying shake paw. After about five times, I gave her a treat. You have to do this many times to get her to shake your hand. The dog might not learn it at once and it might take them some time. If they don’t get it in twenty-five tries, stop and try again later. Eventually, your dog will learn.
