My favorite films have always been in the genre of horror. I started watching these types of movies growing up in the late 80s. Many people consider the 80s to be the birth of the “slasher films” like Halloween and Friday the 13th. The horror genre has a lot of variety to offer…some films being mostly about blood and gore, while others are just as suspenseful without much violence at all. My favorite horror films are the ones that leave a lasting impression on you after watching them. A few of my favorite horror films would be “The Exorcist”, “Alien”, “Session 9″, “The Descent” and many others I have seen over the last twenty years. Recently some of the best horror and thriller films have been coming out of Japan and Korea. The Asian horror films have brought a fresh new perspective on a genre often full of cliché. Most of the horror films that will be made in the next few years will be remakes of an Asian film that has been “dumbed down” for an American audience.
I bleed Panther blue, baby! In 1999 I moved to China. Five years later, they showed the first NFL game they had shown since 1982. It was a Super Bowl. Patriots vs. Panthers. Monday morning in my time zone. I used an alarm clock during my vacation. I only turned the sound on during that halftime mascot feature to listen to Madden, Fisher, Cowher, etc. with Chinese subtitles. I spent the rest of the halftime break making coffee, using the bathroom, microwaving some food, etc. That’s right, young adolescent males, I missed Janet Jackson’s wardrobe malfunction. Possibly they didn’t show it here, since I read somewhere there was a one-hour tape delay I didn’t know about. You have Daylight Savings Time and we don’t, so sometimes we’re 12 hours ahead of EST and sometimes we’re 13 hours ahead, and I get confused.

Last night, I cooked dinner. I am trying to eat more healthfully, so I started with whole wheat penne. It was really good, which surprised me. For the sauce, I began by sautéing ground turkey sausage with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes. I set aside the sausage and browned a head and a half of garlic in butter in the same pan. To that, I added some chopped spinach, just until it started to wilt. I poured in a large can of small diced tomatoes and stirred. I simmered that with more salt, more pepper, a little cayenne, some oregano, and some basil. I sat down to eat and paired my pasta with a slice of whole wheat bread that had been slathered with butter and roasted garlic and then broiled. It was delicious, all of it.
My daily routine is pretty set, at least on the weekdays. I wake up at 5:30, and go let the dog out. While she is outside, I hop on the internet for a minute to see if there are any pressing emails to read right away, or any big sports news that happened overnight. Then, I shower and wash my face. After that, I eat breakfast (cereal, peanut butter on toast, a banana, and a glass of milk), and go online, checking my emails, Facebook, etc. After that, I blow dry my hair, pick out my outfit for the day, and put on makeup.
My favorite book It would be one of the mistakes of my life (not third or fourth, it will take time to count and I’m sure that it won’t be a small figure), if I missed “Three Mistakes of My life”, an awesome novel by the great Indian writer Chetan Bhagat. I wonder how people are able to write stories as if they are not stories but real events. As it’s the first English novel that I read with interest, I can’t tell it’s the best or compare with any other. But I believe I did a great work by reading it. And I wish if I could suggest everyone to read that.
Sit down relax watch a little TV and let you mind go numb! Then there is Abby, Gibbs, Zena, Tony and Probby taunting you to keep you interested. You want to let go and let your mind wonder but there they are, finding clues everywhere they look. Searching for the criminal that killed their soldier as if there aren’t enough soldiers being killed in war. Zena keeps Tony guessing what she is thinking and Abby’s computers always find the answer the team needs. Gibbs is there watching over the lot of them making sure they all stay on track for the Killer. Probby as usual is nervous and unsure. And then…. The killer thinking they got away… Didn’t leave a clue…. Laughing in the face of the human race. Then Gibbs and his team pounce on the killer to prove justice prevails again. That’s why NCIS is my favorite show.
Life’s been a little difficult of late. With the economy doing poorly, my finances have begun to suffer. Given that I’ve only just graduated school with a student loan debt, this is troubling, but I’m trying to remain hopeful. There has to be something I can do to keep money coming in and make some use of that fancy degree, right? I’m taking the time to do my research, build my portfolio and follow a few dreams before I get a good nine to five job when the economy settles down and the job market opens up again. This means a lot of finding out what talents people I know have and finding a way to utilize them in a way that’s mutually beneficial and give us both an amazing portfolio piece. It’s not just tough for me, you know. Still having some trouble finding those sound people, though. Still, I do hope things get a little better soon. It’s a bad time to be graduating and I learned that a touch too late.
After years spent traveling around Europe and Asia, I have to say my favorite town is my own hometown of Dublin in Ireland. No other city will greet you with such a friendly welcome and infectious atmosphere. With numerous top class restaurants, bars, theatres and galleries you will never be stuck for choice for entertainment in Dublin. Its location is an ideal base for exploring the rest of Ireland and it is the central hub for all national railway and bus travel. Everything is just right on your doorstep. Recently Dublin has become a multicultural city and a real hive of creative energy. Dublin has the advantage of being a gateway into Europe, with cheap flights available to most cities, whilst also being situated away from the hustle and bustle. I really can’t imagine living in any other city. I may always travel but I shall definitely always call Dublin my home!
You love playing with your dog, feeding your dog, playing catch – your dog is your constant companion and your best friend. But if your best friend were sitting in the front seat of your car without a seat belt, wouldn’t you tell him to put one on? Then why is this not still true for your dog? Your dog’s safety in a car is just as important as the safety of any other human passenger – perhaps more so. In an accident, a dog in the front or rear seat is probably more likely to get injured than a person, since the car is not specifically designed for canine passengers. This is only exacerbated by a lack of a safe seat belt. This why a dog seat belt is so important.
