Handicrafts for Fun and Relaxation
I confess, I spend the majority of my spare time reading. If I have the energy for it, I cook, and then have something yummy to eat while I read. Or while I watch movies, because it’s a bit difficult to manage a plate of food and a book at the same time. Then, of course, I have the rest of the movie to watch, and that’s where my other main hobby comes in: making things by hand. Lately, I’ve been doing basket-weaving, but I keep meaning to learn how to knit something other than scarves. Knitting is an excellent thing to do while watching a movie, and so is origami, one of my other favorite activities (there’s something very restful about it, and the results can be truly beautiful). I used to do some bead-work, too, but these days I leave that to my mother– she’s much better at it than I am.
