A Trip to the Most Magical Place on Earth
It was the middle of September, money was tight but the birthdays drew closer for in her prime Mary Jane. A son turning 19 and a surrogate son turning the same age only a month later. She scuffled through thoughts of how to pull through with something spectacular. The phone rang in the pocket of almost birthday-boy Mikel while he stand outside his friends’ house awaiting a recent purchase, he answers the call with a subtle ‘chello mada!’, she begins with the casual small talk, somewhere in between college classes and finding a job she mentions she bought two day passes for Disney world and universal studios, plus her credit card for a hotel room and gas. Mikel dropped jaw on the spot and shouted to his friend ‘WERE GOING TO DISNEY!’ Packed and ready for the long drive ahead of them, iPod charged, three full packs of cigarettes and an ounce, of course the snack foods stored in the front seat. They take off down the interstate for Orlando, FL and arrive soon after about 4 hours. Checking in at the hotel and plopping on the bed they kick off there shoes and light up there stogies, looking at each other in excitement, then race out the door to Disney World. They were stunned every step they took by the scenery and anticipation. They rode every teacup in sight and no character went un-photographed. They had as much fun at Universal Studios the next day and had the best stories to tell there mom when they arrived back home. Ending it all with the simple words ‘Thank You Mom, I Love You.’
