A Healthy Feast
Last night, I had a healthy dinner consisting of fried liver with grilled onions with roasted potatoes and fresh string beans on the side. The liver was washed and prepared by swirling each piece in an egg batter, dipped in flour and then lightly fried. Sweet onions were thinly sliced and added to the liver as it cooked. The roasted potatoes were sliced, dipped in oil with salt and pepper, placed in a glass pan and roasted to perfection at 350 degrees for approx. 2 hours. The fresh string beans were washed, the ends were cut off and then the string beans were boiled adding just a touch of salt and pepper as they cooked. For dessert, I made a homemade apple pie with Granny Smith apples to give the sweet apple pie just a twist of tartness topping it off with whipped cream and a cherry with a bowl of vanilla ice cream on the side.
