One of the happiest moments of my life is when we went to Cebu last week. It was our educational trip to Cebu as one of the requirements in Finance 111, a major subject of students taking Bachelor Of Science Major in Banking and Finance. My past week’s experience is full of excitements and fun because of that 4-day tour. We started our trip by taking a school bus around 3:42 in the afternoon here inside the Bukidnon State University. The bus took us to Cagayan de Oro City where we transferred to a large passenger’s boat or a ship going to Cebu City. We arrived at Cebu early morning and went immediately to our hotel. We had delicious breakfast. Then, on that first day of the tour, we visited different companies in Cebu that are related to our courses. We visited International Pharmaceuticals Incorporated, a company that makes all health products such as pain killers, rubbing alcohol, soap, soap powder, feminine wash and others. We also visited Central Bank of the Philippines, Cebu Chamber of Commerce and other important companies like a call center. Aside from that, we also went to a few tourist spots in Cebu like historical places. The nicest thing about the trip is the bond between friends or the fun that we had shared.

While being a box office bomb and certainly not as well known as some of Steven Soderbergh’s later efforts, “The Limey” is beloved by many movie buffs and has become somewhat of a cult hit. The titular character, played with a raw edge by Terence Stamp, is an ex-con named Wilson who arrives in America to find out more about what happened to Jennie, his deceased daughter. The official story is that Jennie died in a car accident, but Wilson isn’t buying that and instead focuses on music producer Terry Valentine (Peter Fonda) as the object for his revenge. The story is told in a disjointed, non-linear manner and there are flashes both forward and backwards in time to slowly reveal more and more information about Wilson and his motivations. Soderbergh’s direction and Stamp’s performance are both first-rate and with Ed Lachman’s photography accompanied by Cliff Martinez’ harrowing score, first time viewers are often left both stunned and exhilarated at the end of this masterpiece. One word of warning; the original style with which this movie is crafted can often cause viewers to become confused during the first act, but if you do stick with it you will be rewarded.
As an old coot, I grew up without a home team, but when I moved down to Tampa, Florida in 1977, they’d lost over 14 of their 25 straight losses, and I became a very happy hometown fan. From worst to first and back to worst. Skip ahead to 1989, when I returned to North Carolina. The Panthers were certainly exciting in those early days, challenging San Francisco for the NFC West. For years I never had to worry about which home team was really my home team. One tended to stink so badly that I’d cheer for the other in a slim hope, usually unrealistic, of playoffs. Once they both hit the NFC South, however, and put together some consistency, the truth came out.
What I had for supper last night most definitely was anything but shrimp and steak. I had a 3 course meal which consisted of ramen’s noodles with chopped up hot dogs and habanera hot sauce, pizza, and broccoli and cheese. The broccoli and cheese was just steamed broccoli with melted cheese whiz. We ordered the pizza, we had two pizzas, one with five toppings and one two topping that had pepperoni all the way through and half onion, half sausage. The other one had pineapple, jalapeños, onions, chicken, and mushrooms. My ramens noodles, I crushed the pack and boiled them. Then strained then put habanera hot sauce in them. I then fried 4 hot dogs chopped them up and put them in the noodles.
